Dr. James H. Parker IV was named the new principal at Jones Senior High School at the February 7, Jones County Board of Education meeting. Dr. Parker has extensive leadership experience and has served eight years as a principal and two years as an assistant principal. In addition, Dr. Parker has six years of experience as a classroom teacher and five years of experience as a district-level leader.

Dr. Parker has a passion for educating students and ensuring quality instruction and looks forward to being the instructional leader at Jones Senior High School. He also advocates for supportive and positive relationships with students while ensuring research-based instructional practices. Dr. Parker’s educational background involves an undergraduate degree in Biology from Mount Olive College and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth. His doctorate in Educational Leadership was from North Carolina State University.

He is married to Dr. Joell Parker, a dentist with Southland Dental Care, and has three children. We welcome Dr. Parker and his family to Jones County and look forward to his leadership and support of our students.
