Michael T. Bracy, SuperintendentSuperintendent's Message

There are many challenges we face in the educational arena today. The educators in Jones County envision these challenges as opportunities for ingenuity and growth. The Jones County School District's mission is to build a community of globally competitive learners for the 21st Century. The vehicle to make this happen is customized learning for all students, by providing rigorous and relevant instruction; thus improving student knowledge and academic performance.

The Kindergarten students of 2009 will be seniors in the year 2020. Our ultimate goal is to assure that 100% of these students graduate and are ready and prepared for 21st Century citizenship. The components necessary to accomplish this include: instructional strategies to prepare our students, a professional learning team open to innovations, a healthy and safe environment where learning can take place, involvement of all stakeholders in the lives of our students, and a 21st Century support system. The District Accreditation Process has allowed us to realize our accomplishments in the above areas.

Teachers, support staff, administrators, parents and communities are committed to the ongoing improvement of our district.  Through collaborative efforts, we continue to provide a productive and positive environment for students and employees. Jones County School District understands the importance of the continuous improvement process and the impact high standards have on the future of our students.

As a team we believe we are stronger and better as all stakeholders work together to prepare our students to live in a global society.
