Hi everyone, my name is Jackie Kiernan. I am the Exceptional Children Teacher/Case Manager at Maysville Elementary School. I am originally from England where I grew up and went to school. I have served in the military (British Army) and was also a military wife (U.S. Army). I have three sons and two grandsons.... all of them a handful!! Two sons live in Jacksonville and my youngest son is serving his country with the U.S. Army in Afghanistan. (I miss him terribly!) I have worked in the education system since 1998 working in the public school system at both middle and high school levels. I have also worked at the community college level working at Coastal Carolina Community College and Craven Community College. In my last position as an administrator and instructor at Craven Community College, I coordinated the Adult Basic Education Program (GED and Adult High School Diplomas) and Compensatory Education Program (Exceptional Adult classes). I have recently moved back to this area to live and was very fortunate to join this great community of Maysville and Maysville Elementary School. My educational achievements consist of a B.S. degree, an Exceptional Children K-12 grade teaching credential, and a M.S. in Education degree. I am thrilled to be here! I have already met many parents and hope to meet many more as the school year continues. I couldn't ask for a better team to work with and our students here at Maysville Elementary School are awesome!
