I am pleased to welcome you to Jones Middle School home of the Fighting Knights. I would like to take a moment to introduce myself.
This is my fourth year at Jones Middle School as principal and my eleventh year in the field of education. My goal for Jones Middle is to truly be the bridge between the elementary schools and Jones Senior High. This year we are going to apply to be a NC Middle School to Watch!
We have seen many accomplishments the past three years at Jones Middle School. Not only did test scores go up but we had a record number of students who made the Honor Roll, Principal's List and met their AR goals. Our technology has increased significantly and how could I leave out that our mascot was changed!
My undergraduate degree is from East Carolina University and I graduated again in 2009 from ECU with my Master's in School Administration. (Go Pirates!!!) After I graduated from ECU with my undergraduate degree I was not sure what I wanted to do as a career so I joined AmeriCorps NCCC do volunteer and commit to 10 months of community service/outreach. During this time I was working at King Chavez Academy in San Diego and feel in love with teaching. Upon my return from the West Coast, I applied for a job teaching and have remained in the profession since.
I am excited about working with the students, families and the communities of Jones County to ensure that all student's potential is turned into the possibilities they deserve.
